Sweet baby present

My first nursing cover completed with the help of my dear friend Laura. It's for another dear friend having her second in September. It took a little while with all the prep work but once we got sewing it came together quickly. So fun and addicting this sewing thing.

The Lake Cabin Project revisited.....

So this past weekend we headed up to the cabin armed with a few things to update the place. My parents met us up there and in about twenty four hours we were able to do a little shopping in town, catch up with my Mom's cousin from Canada, the boys had a little beach time and my Mom and I added a few new touches to the place. Next week loads of family head up there for a work party....hope they enjoy it!

I added a few framed maps of the area to the staircase.

I took a table I had in my basement and spray painted it in a nice green. The brown containers on the bottom hold the movies.

We lost out on the leather couches from Craigslist so for now I got furniture throws and a few pillows to help the couch and chairs out in the looks department. Also added a new side table, lamp and framed pictures. I was going to fill all of these frames with family lake pics but I didn't have time so two of them are filled with the IKEA shots they came with.

We took out this big bookshelf which leaned crazily into the wall and collected lots of junk and replaced it with an old bookshelf we had sitting in our storage area. I spray painted this as well. I added a lamp and a framed map of the lake. The frame was a garage sale find. I also added a shadow box I had never used with a picture of "Welcome to the H******" written in the sand and some rocks found at a beach on the lake.

My father in law brought this new table and chairs up we found on Craigslist the day before we got there. Therefore no before picture of the old table and chairs. The old table was surrounded by pink and white plastic outdoor chairs if that gives you any idea! It turned out that the new chairs were the exact same style as the barstools we already had. Notice the terrible mint green vertical blinds....everyone wants to get rid of them. It just hasn't happened yet. I also didn't get a good picture of the corner chair. It is behind Quinn's car seat in the first photo. It is a very old pullout bed chair. My father in law told me it had blood stains on it. So so gross. I covered that with a blanket and brought in a new side table and lamp. I also added a few framed lake pictures to this corner.

I brought up a chalkboard I made last summer for this corner of the cabin. Also added the photos I wasn't able to get framed to it. We swapped out tables and cleared up some clutter and added a lamp.

I didn't do much in the kitchen and entryway areas. I added a few framed photos over the fridge and replace the old clock over the stove with a new one. I added the metal sign and "Welcome to the Lake" sign in the entryway.

Well, got that out of my system. At least for now. We still have the furniture to replace...and the blinds...and the bedrooms...and the bathrooms....

The Lake Cabin project....

(Some scenic shots of our views of the cabin deck and a shot of the ugly chair...this is they type of stuff I am dealing with ladies.)

So my little head has been so distracted lately with my newest obsession. You see, my husband's family has a lake cabin in a beautiful spot. The problem is that they put so much time and energy into building it all those years ago that no one has put much love into decorating the little cabin.

We visited a couple of weeks ago (see previous post) and I couldn't stop daydreaming about what I could do, how I could redecorate, what I could buy to make it that much cuter. Does anyone else have these redecorating daydreams?

We hit IKEA last week and I was able to pick up a couple of things for the cabin. Some end tables, lamps and picture frames...many scored for a great deal. (They are having lovely sales right now ladies....so if you are in the area...). I have also been haunting Craigslist. Yesterday I had my heart broken. I found a beautiful leather couch and loveseat for $400! It would have been perfect. I waited, checking my email compulsivley all day. Of course they sold it last night. We were however able to buy a very solid oak table with six chairs and two leafs for a fair price last night. Right now the cabin just has an old table with plastic outdoor patio chairs around it.

My house is busting at the seams with stuff and has been decorated for all it's worth so it has been so fun to have a new space to obsess about. I'll take more pictures next time I go up so I can show you before and afters.....

Picture Overload

Get ready for way too many pictures...we have done so much fun stuff in the last few weeks that I thought I would just blast you with the photographic evidence.

First time at the lake cabin this summer. Hudson hung out in the ugly chair (that I am so desperately trying to replace) and only ran away once!

Addison grumpily eating her chocolate donut.

One of our spectacular views from the cabin deck.

Eli was lovin the rocks on the beach!

He was also lovin throwing them!

Little Quinn at our feeding stop on the way home...getting "urped" by Daddy. (Addison's lingo)

Captured a little smile...he is so smiley and responsive now!

Eli's first ever T-ball game! He did great even if he did cry when I cheered for him. I forgot he said "no cheering!".

We spent a fun filled week at my sissy's new place on the West side. Daddy and Addison at the harbor checking out the boats.

Eli checking them out too!

Riding the horsie in their cute, cute downtown.

Isn't she the cutest little thing with those ringlets? My niece in her cousin's sunglasses.

An afternoon at the beach.

Meerkats at the zoo...did you ever watch Meerkat Manor on Animal Planet?

Addison is at the perfect age for the zoo...she loved seeing all of the animals.

The boys got to feed the Budgees.

Addison and Daddy trying to get the Budgees to land on their feeding sticks.

Aren't elephants amazing?

Our second trip to the zoo...Peyton twirling.

Addison just hangin out by the "twirl".

We packed them in there!

Princess Namma on her birthday. (She's going to kill me for this one!)

The cousins.
