Our Favorites

Cindy at My Romantic Home is doing a "Favorite Thing" weekend where we all post our current favorite thing in our home. It sounded fun so I thought I'd join in!

I have a lot of favorite things but this one has made such a big difference in the feel of my living room that I had to choose it!
I found this armoire almost a year ago when I was traveling to visit my parents. It was a total spontaneous purchase and I couldn't even fit it into my car! My dear friend had to drive me out to this cute little town where I bought it the next week to pick it up. It hides my television perfectly and is tiny enough to fit into our mouse sized living/dining room! Plus it was the perfect shade of red, it matches the red shutters on my wall exactly. I think the gal and I used the same shade of paint!

Free Finds!

For those of you that know me you know I am a sucker for old things, things that I can repurpose or refinish. So yesterday as I was pulling out of my driveway I noticed that my neighbor had piled a bunch of free "junk" out by the street. Of course I had to take a look.....what do you think?

I'm thinking of doing something fun with this window and screen in the garden.

This is kind of a worn out tool chest but I thought I could paint it or leave it and plant some flowers for the yard.

This is a little funky. I thought it might make a great storage piece, maybe just in the garage or Greg's tool area or my crafts???

I am excited about this. It is a little beat up and the bottom drawer is cracked but I thought if I sanded it down really well and painted it a cheery color that it would be really cute. I could use it in the kid's room or the basement play area...

Happy Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday everyone! I thought I would jot a little note to say hi since I've mostly been posting pictures. I had to put a cute little picture of Eli on here since his sister has been getting all of the attention lately. Eli -the lucky little boy- is having a "visit over" at Grandma & Papa's house right now. We drove over for the day yesterday and left him there. He was so excited. So cute. Thanks Mom & Dad for taking the kid for a few days. I really feel like I am on vacation with just one kiddo. I actually get to watch the Today show this morning instead of turning the t.v. directly to PBS Kids or Disney. Wow, that's nice. We will miss him though but in the meantime I am going to lunch with my friend Keri and shopping for her baby girl that is set to arrive on August 5th!

Below are a few random shots of pretties in my yard. It seems that either flowers are bloomed out already or things just aren't happy from too much sun or too much water or not enough water! I am a gardener in training so I am at a loss with some things. So here are some pictures of things that are still pretty...plus one really cute shot of my doggy.

The many faces (cute ones I might add) of the little missy.

Isn't she the sweetest? I am so totally in love with her age right now. So innocent but just starting to know when she is naughty, so loving and funny. I just can't stand how cute she is!

The little missy and the little mister

I have been such a bad blogger. I don't know how I have let a month go by without a single post. Just laziness I guess. So a warning - this post is purely for those lovely people that check in with me here to see pictures of the kids. I don't mean to do a kid overload but I basically uploaded all of my pictures since I have last posted and here you go. Enjoy!

Here is the little missy chillin with her slow melt popsicle. Whoever invented those needs a hug from all Moms.

Just reminding us that her flowery pillowcase dress doesn't mean she's not a tough girl that can ride ATV's.

My friend Jessica saw her playing with brother's Spiderman undies and couldn't resist putting them on her head and taking a picture. I think we have a picture of me somewhere with undies on my head too (taken at this age of course...I was never that wild!)

Eli with his buddy.

This is her cutest development lately. She waves at everyone and says "hi". She stands on our front lawn and greets the neighbors. Greg says we should take a cue from her and be that friendly.

Eli at the lake over the holiday weekend. Right after this picture he bravely jumped in the lake with Daddy. It was soooo cold!

Addison loves her friend Gavin!

Eli lounging in the hammock at the lake.

Yep, she was pretty cool camping.
