The countdown is on!

Only five more days until my little baby is ONE year old! She is so cute I could just squeeze her and kiss her all day long. Her birthday is Saturday the 23rd. It really doesn't seem that long ago that we were preparing to welcome her to the family. That is how time goes though. Life really is a cliche.

She has recently started whining/screaming for no apparent reason. She isn't crying but she might be irritated when she does it. She has never been a very vocal baby so I know she is just testing what she can do but it is a little annoying! She is still not walking which is fine by me. She continues to practice a few steps at a time and I know one of these days she will take off across the room!

We are just having some family over for her birthday - oh and one set of friends who have a baby. It will be a pretty low key party with yummy pizza bread and cupcakes or "pupcakes" as Eli still call them. I picked up this cute little talking purse for her the other day. It comes with keys and lipstick and a bracelet of course! You can't be an unaccesorized baby! The only other thing I bought her was a little family picture book that I need to fill with pictures of everyone that loves her.

On another note, I had a great time with my sister, Ian and Peyton. Addison flew on an airplane for the first time and I was glad it was only an hour flight. She was even given airplane wings for her scrapbook (which doesn't exist) from the stewardess. It was very cute. The plane was totally full of course and I was sitting next to two women who couldn't care less about the cute baby next to them. I don't get people like that..especially women. They barely glanced at her. What kind of people are like that? Anyway, she did pretty good for her first flight.

Peyton is in love with Addison. The entire time we were there he was looking for the baby or talking about the baby. He couldn't really say her name so she was just the "baby". Peyton is so cute right now ( not that he isn't any other time )! He is talking so much and his favorite thing to say is "No!". Nicole got Peyton's room and the new baby's nursery switched and they are decorated adorably! The baby is due mid March but she is in so much back and leg pain that we are all praying that she comes early. Poor Nicole - but she is a trooper and was able to get so much done while I was there.

My Mom and Dad took Eli for five days while I was away and he had so much fun.
He had more of a social life in five days with them than he does in two months at home. He was able to play with other kids everyday he was there and even got to go to his first Valentine's party!

I do have more to gab about but this post is getting too long for you poor readers out there! Have a great day!

If only......

If only I could post pictures you would know:

1. We have had record breaking amounts of snow here (I feel like I'm back in Alaska!). I am sick of it and am looking longingly at garden magazines.

2. My little almost one year old is on the verge of walking! She has taken a grand total of four steps on her own. She stands alone like a pro but isn't so ready to take off across the room yet.

3. Eli has been sick the past few days - a fever we can't seem to get rid of. His latest funny expressions "That freaks me out!" or That's making me crazy!". The other day in the car he wanted something (I think candy) he asked very nicely for it and I told him he could have it after dinner. He DID NOT GET why I wouldn't give it to him since he asked like a friend. He has also started to stick up for Addison. If she is fussy with us he thinks we are doing something bad to her.

4.I joined Weight Watchers about a month ago with Greg and my friend Laura. I have lost about 8 pounds so far, Greg has lost 10. We also joined the YMCA - Greg has been great about going...me not so much yet. I have the kids to deal with though...my excuse.

5. I get to go on a mini vacation from MY responsibilities tomorrow. My Mom and I had planned to take the kids and head over to see Nicole for a week. We wanted to help her get her baby nursery set up and be there for her baby shower. With the weather so bad and the pass being closed so often we had to cancel the trip. The alternative? I get to fly over with just Addison for five days! I am sad my Mom won't get to come and feeling slightly guilty for not taking Eli but excited to see my sis and help her out. Her baby is due in five weeks! I can't wait to meet my little niece!

6. We are refinancing our house! Yippee! When we bought a little over a year ago the only way we could afford our mortgage was to take out an interest only loan...you know the type. Anyway, we always had the plan to refinance as soon as we could but I didn't think it would be so soon. I am amazed that our mortgage is only going up like forty dollars a month with a thirty year fixed loan. Thank you God! Now we can start paying down our loan. We were supposed to have an appraisal done so I have been waiting for the call and worrying about keeping my house clean enough for the past week and a half. Now they are saying they might just take an exterior picture? What kind of an accurate appraisal is that? We have done improvements...I want to know the results!

So those are the latest happenings in our little family....I'll keep you posted!

What the?!#*

What might you ask has resurrected me from my long blog absence? Lil Wayne...ever heard of him? Yeah, me neither. I often go through my blog to check my other favorite blogs out there and this time around as my music player started I heard the strange sounds of Lil Wayne. My entire play list was comprised of songs like Hooker Flange and other horrors my mind has already blotted out. I called my sister because in my long absence my mind has forgotten my password to even sign into my blog. What do I do I asked her...what if someone comes to my blog and hears these songs? I think I would have a lot of people suddenly praying for me!

So, crisis averted....I found me cheat sheet with how to log into my blog and when I returned to it my original play list was back!?!?

I hope to one day be a regular blogger again. Our computer is still down and I am using the laptop again. I could post as I am now but I can't put pictures on for reasons I won't get into now. I can't imagine anyone would want to read my blog without pictures so for now I will wait.
