25 hours.....
.....was how long Quinn and I spent in the E.R. & hospital
*one scary spell of not breathing
*one doctor telling us we better take him in to be checked
*one catheter
*four owie pokes to get an i.v. started
*3 chest x-rays
*one nasal swab
*two really bad pokes for a spinal tap
*one newly introduced pacifier dipped in sugar water to help him through the pain
*one guilty but relieved Momma when all the tests came back fine
*one Momma still worried about apnea and SIDS
*one apnea monitor that gives peace of mind but annoyingly beeps wire trouble and false alarms all night
*One GOOD God who loves us and cares for us in every situation
*P.S. Quinn has not been diagnosed with apnea because he didn't stop breathing for a full 15-20 seconds. I was holding him though and jostled him as soon as I saw something was wrong so we really don't know what would have happened had I not been there. We are going to use the monitor for a few weeks though and see if it happens again. If he doesn't I think we can safely rule out apnea and I will feel so much better!
He is also doing really well in every other way. He was back up to his birth weight of 8 pounds 2 ounces yesterday and is a natural nurser. He is a really good baby as well...easily soothed and oh so sweet!

One Week
It's already been one week since little Quinn was born. My sister put the post up announcing his birth but I thought I'd share a few pictures of the day and the last week with you....
Cousin Peyton was VERY into baby Quinn. Love this look he's giving Grandma.
Here is one of the best pictures I could find. It is HARD to get a good picture of a newborn! I realize it looks a little like he has been laid to rest here...I will keep trying to get a good one! Oh to have the skills of a great photographer!
We are doing really well and I can't believe how totally in love I am with this little guy. I should know since he is my third but it is always a surprise how much your children steal your heart. I don't ever want to put him down. We have all of this baby paraphernalia lying around to put him in and I can barely stand to see him in any of it. He just needs to be held. I forgot how much I love new babies, the way they curl into this little ball, reminding you how they did fit into your tummy. They pull their legs up into a little pretzel so that they never stay in their clothes. Their little startle reflexes....the way they smell...their soft, downy hair....holding them on your chest, a little ball of sweetness and joy...their scrunched up faces and long necks when they stretch....such joy...such love.
