One Week

It's already been one week since little Quinn was born. My sister put the post up announcing his birth but I thought I'd share a few pictures of the day and the last week with you....

My first time meeting Quinn in the operating room.

Here is one of his first pictures under those bright warming lights. I just LOVE his little dimples!

Proud Daddy getting to hold Quinn in the nursery while the doctors were finishing up with me.

Finally in our room getting to hold Quinn after his first bath.

The kids getting to meet Quinn. For all of Eli's excitement pre-baby, he was a little hesitant as you can see from this picture. He told us he would hold Quinn on Valentine's day.
Addison thoroughly checked him out.

Yep, he has a nose!

So nice that their cousins were here to visit last week. Addison and Ashtyn - the only girls.

Cousin Peyton was VERY into baby Quinn. Love this look he's giving Grandma.
We tried to get a shot of ALL of the cousins for a Mother's Day picture for my Mom. This was still when Eli wouldn't hold Quinn. Addison reached right out for him...what a little Mommy.

Eli did come around though. Once he held him, he was hooked. Now he comments on how great, how cute, how wonderful, etc. Quinn is and wants to hold him for like "seven hours"!
Here is one of the best pictures I could find. It is HARD to get a good picture of a newborn! I realize it looks a little like he has been laid to rest here...I will keep trying to get a good one! Oh to have the skills of a great photographer!

We are doing really well and I can't believe how totally in love I am with this little guy. I should know since he is my third but it is always a surprise how much your children steal your heart. I don't ever want to put him down. We have all of this baby paraphernalia lying around to put him in and I can barely stand to see him in any of it. He just needs to be held. I forgot how much I love new babies, the way they curl into this little ball, reminding you how they did fit into your tummy. They pull their legs up into a little pretzel so that they never stay in their clothes. Their little startle reflexes....the way they smell...their soft, downy hair....holding them on your chest, a little ball of sweetness and joy...their scrunched up faces and long necks when they stretch....such joy...such love.

Oh! Will, Emma and I just looked at all of the pictures. Emma says he's so cute. When she saw all of the grandbabies together, she said, "Oh man, your friend Courtney has a lot of children." I explained that they aren't all yours! We just bought Quinn a little present this morning. We promise to get it to you before he's out of infancy :).
